Marilyn Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. She has a dual concentration for her Masters Degree (Counseling Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis) She is a Board Certified Professional Counselor and Board Certified PTSD Clinician. She has practiced conflict resolution counseling since 2006. She was trained at Loyola Law School in Divorce Mediation and was trained in Forensics and Child Custody Evaluation in Daytona, Florida. She practices both out of her office in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Marilyn currently offers individual and group counseling and also classes in her private practice including: Parenting, Anger Management Work Ethic, Substance Abuse (6 levels of classes to choose from), Intensive Outpatient and Concentrated Intensive Outpatient, 12 hour Substance Abuse Program, 18 hour Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Program, DUI First Time Offender, 28 week Domestic Abuse Intervention Program, and Life Skills Classes. She opened her private practice, Best Life Counseling and Behavior Clinic, and has been in the same location since 2012.
She also works with family practice attorneys, defense attorneys, the District Attorney’s office, and judges to help defendant’s recovery and needs. She works within her private practice to service the needs of patients/defendants within her scope of practice with DSM-5 criteria including mental illness, PTSD armed forces – service related and civilian, law enforcement/fire/first responders, substance abuse and addiction as well as appraisal and assessments with these patients/defendants. She is from a family of physicians and works closely with physicians and the medical community.
She and her husband, Douglas Ducote, do speaking engagements throughout the USA on many topics surrounding empowering veterans and civilians who struggle to find their personal place beyond their past stumbles in life. They are outspoken when it comes to standing up for the oppressed and constitutional rights.
